Hi WRRY! How are you?
What’s up Disrupt! Thanks for having this virtual interview with me. I’m as good as I can be with all this shit that’s going on. Been taking time to myself. Running, reading…trying to free my mind a little bit more than usual. Hope you guys are staying safe as well!
Where are you from?
This is one of those questions I never have a solid answer for but to keep it simple – California. I went to 4 High Schools in the course of 4 years all over different parts of the U.S. But I was born and raised in California and I’ve been in the Los Angeles / Orange County area for like the last 8 years.
What is your greatest inspiration for your music?
Man…I find inspiration in everything. Like even though we haven’t been experiencing life the same way we would outside of a pandemic, I still find crazy things to get inspired from. But, before the social distancing laws and all that, I would literally get inspired to make music based on the life I was living. I feel like when you try to experience life to the fullest and not worry about what other people think, you unlock a lot of potential for yourself so I would say I was inspiring myself every time I became a better version of me, if that makes sense.
What are 3 words that describe your music?
Real. Refreshing. Fun.
What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?
A lot of songs that will be coming out will touch on this for sure! But really it’s just stuff we all go through in my opinion. Heart break (plenty of it). F*cked up friendships..and overall just becoming self aware. It isn’t easy. But my music is really just my journey as a person and I’m super excited to share that.
What are the challenges of being an artist?
There’s so many. And I think social media and all these random influencers becoming “artists” out of nowhere kind of make it look easy. But it’s a lot of work. A lot of mental stress. Then you got the entire world of Social media. Which aside from the actual music itself is a whole hassle of its own…. i wish i could be one of those artists who posts once every 6 months and people go nuts over it. But no, I’m in the studio until 6 a.m every other night. Opening my heart and my mind on a microphone. Internally, It’s like self sabotaging…..but good art doesn’t come from sunshine and rainbows.
Are you planning on releasing new music soon?
Yes. Alot. Very soon. It’s actually surreal. And a little scary. This is like 3+ years in the making. I’ve never dropped an Album or a Mixtape so to be dropping my debut Album very soon is crazy. The first single comes out on 11/11 so go get that!
While I know people have seen me drop some songs over the last 3 years, those we’re really just the ones I was letting out to keep reminding people that I make music. Some of those I literally made first take or in 30 minutes. What’s on the way for you guys is something totally new. Something really special to me. I hope everyone takes the time to check it out.
