Cappo Gaddafi is a first generation immigrant from Somalia and now a prolific Seattle Rapper. His group Malitia MaliMob has gained international praise from both listeners in the Pacific Northwest, and in Cappo’s home country of Somalia. His Thuggin video has been featured on Somali Star Hip Hop, and the Malitia MaliMob youtube has over 1.7 million views.

Gaddafi’s most recent drop is a 15 track project entitled Rain City Dictator. Seattle has been long looking for a legendary album presenting our city to the globe. Though Macklemore’s The Heist, Sir Mix A Lot’s Swass, and Lil Mosey’s Northsbest feature bars about Seattle or the Space Needle on its cover…the Northwest still remains an irrelevant market to most global hip hop fans. Cappo Gaddafi’s Rain City Dictator looks to change this irrelevant status.

Seattle is a city of many nicknames, with Rain City being one of its most prolific. Gaddafi claiming he is the Rain City’s Dictator is the confidence and boldness needed to bring a face to the Pacific Northwest region. Straight off the secret service searching his home after shooting his anti-trump video Dum Dum, Gaddafi brings the heat in Rain City Dictator. WIth fifteen tracks only three features are on the album, an impressive feat for any 2020’s trap artist. He begins the album with the heavy hitting What they Want with a grimy, midwest type chorus that no one has heard from MaliMob before. The album continues with these heavy hitting, mosh worthy tracks including the infamous single Dum Dum. The project concludes with Say Wallahi and the album defining bar “We gon get this money with the time we’ve been puttin’ in”.
