Interview With Freddi Hanzo

Hey Freddi Hanzo! How are you doing today?

I’m doing great! Thanks for asking.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised from Bakersfield, CA. I currently reside in Las Vegas, NV now.

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

My greatest inspiration for my music is watching a ton of anime and cinematic movies. I have a thing where when I watch an anime show as I’m producing a beat; I pick up a feeling from a particular show and I try to instill that through my music. If you ever get the chance to watch Gasper Noe’s Enter the Void, Climax and Irreversible then you will understand why I make my music the way it is brought out to be along with the anime shows I watch. Also I’m very inspired by A$AP Rocky’s style and Kendrick Lamar’s lyricism. Those two are my favorite artists.

What are 3 words that describe your music?

Energetic, Ambient, Mellow-Hype

What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?

The hardest subject I have ever written about was my HANZO FOREVER single. I remember since last year I’ve been trying to find my identity as an artist and basically trying to figure out how can I make my own anthem. Eventually I found my niche and found my own wave of bringing out the HANZO FOREVER track the way it needed to be.

What are the challenges of being an artist?

The greatest challenges of being an artist is knowing right off the bat of your career you will not have the immediate support. It includes the support from the people you know as well. You will face boundaries, setbacks, haters, fake friends, bumps on the road with financial stability, heartbreaks from friends and relationships from your significant other. Trying to find your identity and your sound can be a greater challenge. It is indeed a lonely road but there is always light at the end of the tunnel as long as you stay the course. You have to ignore bad energy because you can block your blessings if you give into it. You will be deceived by a ton of Spotify and Media salesman that tell you on a daily that they can put your music out there to the world but you have to pay $300 – $400 to do so. You have watch out for that because majority of those companies are scam artist. Just know that everything cost money. Studio time, Gas, Bills, Time Management and so much more. Also knowing the music business through the process of dealing with these challenges. I know the music business is a cut throat game but you have to be willing to accept what’s in front of you as an artist before you proceed to go get what you want. Yes you may love doing music but is it really something that you want or is it something that you just do for fun? The real truth behind this music business is that once you proceed into it and thinking you want to do this to be famous, you will get shut down really quick. So to end this answer to your question, my question to anybody that’s an artist; What is it that you want out of this game? That’s a question that they will have to answer for themselves.

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

I plan on releasing a single every month until I drop my album in June. I plan on releasing EP’s and singles throughout the rest of this year and the year after that.
